Marlene Evonne Urton

I will begin by saying, I have a deep passion to emulate the things I see around me that are beautiful and meaningful.  Whether it is a crashing wave on a sandy beach, a dew drop on a newly opened flower, the deep wrinkles in an old person's face, or the soft round curve of a child's cheek.  I always hope that those who view my work will take something away with them.  That they will feel the emotion that prompted the creation of that work and that it will speak to them as it did to me.

Oil paints are my very favorite medium to work with.  The colors dazzle my eyes and my imagination.  I feel as though I could paint anything when beginning a new palette.  It is an excitement that is hard to explain, and time flies once you begin.  It is common to lose all awareness of what is happening around you except your brush, and paint and image....It is truly wonderful.

I also occassionally work in graphite as I find there is a kind of strange mystery in doing something in black and white, especially the human face.

To me Life is a gift and to be blessed with the ability to share it in this form (painting) is a true privilege.

That being said, I invite you to journey through my paintings and drawings and hope you find something that brings you a smile and a bit of joy along the way.

I am happy to accept commissions , you are free to contact me for this or for anything you see that you would care to take home with you.

Thank you for sharing your time with me....Marlene Evonne
