Born and raised in Montana, Marlene spent her younger years among the Rocky Mountains, fields and streams that made up her home.  She has always loved the gorgeous colors of which Montana is so well known.

After spending four years in the US Navy, and then returning to school and becoming a Radiologic Technologist she is now retired and living in Advance, North Carolina. She opened a small home studio and teaches art.

Self- taught  in Oils she always favored Land and Seascapes until recently when she branched out into graphite and portraits.

Marlene has always loved  Blues and Jazz and feels it blends beautifully together with her art as it is an "auditory art" form as well. She has begun a new venture combining the two in a Musical Series.

She enjoys doing commission work, and welcomes inquiries for this.

She participates in Juried shows at the AAWS Gallery of which she is a member in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her work has been displayed at numerous business locations throughout the city.
